Multan Sultans Team Squad for PSL 2019

Multan Sultans Team Squad 2019

Multan Sultan team 2019 roster is placed here. The Multan Sultans were added to five existing teams at the end of the second edition of the tournament, but the news that came in before the start of the fourth was their contract had been terminated. Going into the fourth season of the PSL, Multan Sultans managed to retain captain Shoaib Malik as their sole Platinum Category pick for the season. Malik’s batting has matured like old wine and he will be crucial to his team’s chances not just as a batsman but also the skipper of the side.
In the Diamond category of cricketers, Junaid Khan and Mohammad Irfan will join the setup while the Gold Category retention is top-order batsman Shan Masood.
Test match gun bowler Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Irfan Khan and Umar Siddiq are the three Silver Category players while Mohammad Junaid becomes just the second Emerging player to be retained in the side.
The bad news for the Multan Sultans was that Steven Smith opted out of the tournament because of an elbow injury. He was replaced by Andre Russell in the Replacement Draft. They also got in

Key Players on Multan Sultans Team 2019

Shoaib Malik & Shahid Afridi: There’s a reason to club them together and that’s because they are both legends of the game and for all one knows, might not play too much longer. So watch them while they are still around as they continue to deliver with the bat and ball respectively and at times reverse those roles too.
Mohammad Abbas: Having already become Pakistan’s best Test match bowler in recent times, it would be interesting to watch how Mohammad Abbas goes in the T20 format. It would be a big transition for a bowler who doesn’t have a lot of pace but as they say about class – it’s permanent.
Andre Russell: Russell has come in as a replacement for Steven Smith but what a replacement he is. Both, with the bat and the ball, Russell can go big and long and can single-handedly win games. If he keeps hit fitness, Russell could be one of the early picks for the man-of-the-tournament award.
Wasim Akram joined the squad as the cricket operations director of the side and Tom Moody joins the team as their head coach and they can be expected to remain a part of the set-up even for the new team.
The Schon Group had won the rights to own the Multan Sultans team, and the team was based in Multan, joining the Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, Lahore Qalandars, Karachi Kings and Islamabad United. However, they were unable to keep pace with paying the PSL money for the fourth season too and were suspended from the competition.
One of the reasons why a sixth team was included in the PSL is to cash in on the ever-increasing popularity of the cricket league. Last season, Pakistan cricket fans had taken to the PSL like fish to water, surpassing most expectations as far as TV ratings are concerned. The Multan Sultan squad is placed above.
